Keep Momming

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Shire. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.” The relationship that exists between mothers and daughters is unlike any other. It has many unique moments, memories, and yes, even challenges along the way. The relationship dynamic can be even trickier when your daughter is in those tween-age years. What can be even more difficult is when some people dismiss certain behaviors as “typical tween girl behavior” when those behaviors can be symptoms of something more serious. Research suggests that girls are more likely than boys to report having mostly inattentive Attention- Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms. Since inattentive symptoms can be less noticeable than hyperactive and impulsive symptoms, it is important that moms know what to look for. I’m proud to be joining forces with Shire, CHADD and Holly Robinson Peete to announce the launch of keep momming, a new public … [Read more...]

This is a Test

Testing, Testing, 123 ... wow it's been a long time. There is so much to share, so much to catch up on. First things first, I need to check out all of the new updates with WP and see if everything is working correctly. Where have I been? Well, I've been going to numerous doctors and preparing for brain surgery. Oh and we also moved and ended up having to stay at a hotel/at my mom's house for almost a month. Yep, nightmare of a move! I'm busy getting Abby ready for preschool and getting hubby all set with his new job. It's been a complete madhouse! I also don't have internet set up at home yet. I know, total shocker! Almost two months without internet service! And my phone is a total piece of junk so trying to do anything on it is pointless. I'm at the library now, checking out emails and trying to play catch up. Pretty hard to catch up almost 4 months in 30 minutes but it's a start and it makes me feel like I'm getting back heading in the right direction. I have so much to share, … [Read more...]

In just two months, Abby has really achieved big accomplishments with her potty training! I am so happy and so very proud of her. We have tried so many times over the past two years and finally, everything really fell into place for her. I know it was Pull-Ups First Flush that really helped her this time. The helpful tips, tools and advice I found on the Pull-Ups website helped me find better ways to encourage her and help her this time around. … [Read more...]

Tips on How to Spend Smart from SpendSmart Prepaid Mastercard #sponsored

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. I will be compensated for this post. I have been working really hard to better manage our money and spend smarter than we have been. This is sometimes difficult when my husband forgets the budget or he needs to spend during the day and we not able to communicate. We live on a tight budget so working together, making a budget and talking about purchases helps us manage our spending better. I really love all these helpful tips, the prepaid card is actually something my husband and I have considered for him to use while at work during the week. He often loses track of his purchases because he's so busy, a prepaid card would help him better manage his money and help him keep better track of what he has spent (and just how much he still have to spend without going over budget). I think the SpendSmart Prepaid Mastercard would work great for him and love how it can even text purchase information each time (a huge plus for him since he loses receipts!). … [Read more...]

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, Thoughts and opinions are my own. Well, I think we can all agree that Spring has finally arrived! Warmer temps, flowers blooming, longer days... and the arrival of Tornado Season. Yep, we are definitely kicking things off right today/tonight with 80 degrees and possible tornadoes. Oh joy... But aside from yucky weather, Spring also means SPRING BREAK! Okay, so that has absolutely no meaning for me right now but I know for most parents, it's that time of year when kids are on break and you have got to find things to entertain them with. Sure, playing outside it the best way to keep them happy and busy but what about the stormy, rainy days? Perfect solution - DVDs featuring great Nickelodeon characters! … [Read more...]

Time to go Spring/Summer Clothes Shopping with Rhea Lana’s! #sponsored

photo (35)

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, in exchange for this post I will receive an early shopping pass to attend Rhea Lana’s so I can share a personal review of my shopping experience. All thoughts and opinions are my own. So, although there is still ice on the ground and we even had a few snow flurries early this morning, I'm actually getting ready to go shopping for Abby's Spring and Summer wardrobe. Crazy right? How in the world can I think of shorts and dresses and even swimsuits when we're still dealing with old man winter? Well, even though winter does seem determined to stick around... Pretty Spring days and warmer weather will (hopefully) soon arrive. I don't know about you but for me, that means it is definitely time to go through my child's closet and try to figure out what might still fit, what is too small and what she's going to need for the upcoming warmer weather months. Yes, it's a very exhausting job and one I never look forward to mainly because it … [Read more...]

Disclosure:“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Pull-Ups. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.” We have officially entered the wonderful stage of Potty Training! For real this time! Seriously, this time we're not giving up! I have a new package of Huggies Pull-Ups, new selection of "potty-time" books, a new bag of treats, I'm ready! Can you tell I'm excited? Actually I really am excited; we have tried potty training for a little over a year now and I finally think we are really ready. I had a funny mommy moment not long ago when I was so excited that I shared a status on Facebook. Yep, you know you're a mom when you share potty updates! Potty training is usually a subject I avoid talking with friends about, after a while I grow tired of the looks and the off-hand comments I get. You know what I'm talking about, the "oh, she isn't potty trained? My child was by two. … [Read more...]
