Fun Birthday Crafty Projects

So for Abby’s Birthday Party I decided I wanted to attempt to make several of the decor items, from the centerpiece to just several fun little decor pieces. My mom helped me find several items I needed for my little projects, I just needed to get busy and get everything finished up before Abby’s party! With her birthday quickly approaching, it was time to get started on all my craft projects for the party! The weather the week before the party definitely was working against me… from super cold temps to rain and super windy. Luckily it wasn’t too terrible the Thursday before so we headed outside to get started, I figured as long as I got started I could do a second round on Friday and finish up on Saturday before her party on Sunday.

As I got some of my items out I realized just how many projects I was tackling! Quite a bit more than I thought! Especially for such a small party but I do tend to go a bit over the top for my little princess!

Time to get started! I gathered up everything along with my paint cans and set to work trying to decide what should be which color. I have quite a few items so I’ll be able to do plenty of each color

Abby wanted so bad to help that I let her pick the first color to start with

of course she picked her favorite color… purple!

As Hubby and I tackled all the pots, Abby happily colored with her sidewalk chalk and rode on her tricycle! She wasn’t thrilled when I told her it was time to go inside, she loves playing outside so much… of course she gave me a pouty face…

The cold temps were definitely working against us but I didn’t want to wait until the very last minute like I have in the past. Hubby spent most of the evening working on everything then just left it to dry. I woke up to a bright, pretty collection!

Now to get started on the next step!! Lucky for me, the next steps can be done for the comfort of my big comfy couch in the nice warm house!!

Sorry for the pitiful cell pictures, it was late and I was tired and in pain. Stayed tuned for my next post, featuring her birthday party pictures and the completed project pictures!!! I am quite proud with how everything turned out! Everything turned out much better than I expected, the colors vibrant and so pretty and I was thrilled with how well her theme came together. And of course, she loved her party theme πŸ™‚

Speak Your Mind

  1. Looks like these projects turned out amazing! I love the ideas you used!

    • I’m getting ready to post the finished projects πŸ™‚ They definitely turned out better than I thought, except the yellow… the yellow paint just would not work for us (probably because of the weather). Thanks so much πŸ™‚

  2. Love the Candy bowl project!

  3. I’m so glad I came across this! My son’s birthday is in May and I was wanting to do something fun and yummy for the kids but also would look cute. I think I’ll do something like this but go with some more prime colors like yellow, blue and red to make it more gender neutral. Now I want a lollipop.
