Dinner Ideas: Quick & Easy Tater Tot Casserole

Ever have one of those nights when you just don’t feel like doing much cooking? Or maybe you busy all day running errands and forgot to set something out to cook when you got home? I have lots of those nights and was thrilled to find this super quick & easy tater tot casserole!

Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Cook Time: 30-40 minutes
Serves: 2-4

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef
  • 1 can of Cream of Chicken soup
  • 1 package of frozen Tater Tot Rounds – (I use Ore-Ida Crispy Crowns & only 1/2 a package)
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese
  • salt & pepper
  • Weber N’Orleans Cajun Seasoning

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees,
  • Brown ground beef & drain grease,
  • In an oven safe casserole dish combine ground beef and soup,
  • add salt, pepper and Cajun Seasoning,
  • mix well and spread evenly in casserole dish,
  • Top mixture with tater tots (can be used frozen or defrosted),
  • Bake uncovered for about 30-40 mins or until tater tots are golden brown,
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle shredded cheese over top of tater tots,
  • Return to oven to bake until cheese is melted.
Serve with favorite side dish and enjoy!

I chose corn on the cob and green beans (for Abby) just to keep things simple. I love this recipe, it’s super easy and quick to make. This has become one of my go-to meals when we are running late or forget to set something out for dinner. It’s also perfect for the nights hubby works late and makes enough for his lunch the next day.
Another huge hit with the family and now a new family favorite 🙂
If you try it out let me know what you think! 🙂

  6. This is the best quick and easy AND tasty casserole. If only the hamburger would brown itself. My whole family loves it. I use cream of mushroom soup and add about a half a can of corn. My friend says it must have green beans instead of corn. And neither of us uses cheese. Never thought of that. Sounds awesome.
